ENROLLMENT INFORMATION

 TUITION/REGISTRATION FEES

Rate is $325.00 monthly.

At Muhammad University of Islam, you are paying for a specific slot. NOT per hour or per day, so no discounts are given if your child doesn’t attend school. This includes vacations and holidays.

Hours of Operation:  Normal hours of operation are 7:30am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday. Breakfast hours are 7:30am to 8:00am. Breakfast will not be served after 7:45 am. Students will line up promptly at 8:30am to begin their school day. Instruction ends at 3:30pm. Dismissal is from 3:30pm to 4:00pm.

Registration fees: A non-refundable annual registration fee of $175.00 is charged upon registration of each child. School fees are required to offset academic materials (books, pencils, etc) and all miscellaneous supplies (toilet paper, hand soap, etc) cost. Late registration begins September 8th. The fee for late registration is an additional $50.00.

Payment Schedule: Fees are payable in advance and are due no later than drop-off time on the first day of the week the student is contracted to start school. No exceptions are made for absences due to illness, vacation, or other reasons. You can always pay early. Tuition payment is still due the first of the month, and a fee of $25 will be charged if payments are made after the 7th of the month. Only cash or money orders will be accepted.

Over-time fee: A late fee equal to $5 per child shall be made per 15 minute intervals for pick-ups later or drop off earlier than the above agreed upon time. Example – 1 to 15 minutes late or early, you owe $5 per child; 16 to 30 minutes late or early, you owe $10 per child. This will be strictly enforced and more than 3 late notices will result in a two day suspension; excessive late pick-ups will result in a Termination of Services notice. If one-day (meaning 24 hours) prior notice of late pick up or early drop off was arranged the late fee would be waived.

Extra fees: From time to time parents may be requested to pay extra fees for Field Trips and/or other special projects and activities.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

The doors to MUI officially open at 7:30 am. Please do not drop off your child before 7:30 am (unless prior arrangements have been made; please read overtime fees).

Students who arrive late create a constant disruption to the school day. Students arriving to school after 8:15 am are considered late or tardy. Punctuality is a must.  Parents and guardians will be held accountable for ensuring that their children arrive to school on time. All students arriving after 9:30 am will not be permitted to attend that day. All students are expected to leave the school upon dismissal 3:00pm to 3:30pm promptly. Students left at school after the prescribed pick-up time period is a security risk for both students and the University. Repeated instance of students being left at school after dismissal will result in additional fees, (please read over-time fees), suspension or expulsion from MUI.

 
MUI DRESS CODE

THE PURPOSE FOR A DRESS CODE

Due to the rampant materialism and sexism in the society at large, youth today are vulnerable AND SUSCEPTIBLE to the distractions OF fashion and clothing. fashion, make-up and clothing of themselves are not bad, but their primacy as factors in young people’s lives must be put in check if we hope to give OUR youth proper schooling AND CULTIVATION. A DRESS CODE IS A PROTECTION BOTH FOR THOSE WHO ADHERE TO IT AND THOSE WHO WOULD ENCOUNTER THE ADHERENT. THE STUDENT WHO ADHERES GAINS THE PEACE OF MIND FROM KNOWING THAT OTHERS HAVE TO CONFORM TO A CODE AS WELL. THIS LESSENS EACH child’S NEED TO FEEL THAT SHE HAS TO COMPETE ON THE BASIS ON PROMOTING HER BODY AS AN OBJECT.  A DRESS CODE ALSO PROMOTES UNIFORMITY AND CAN ASSIST IN TEACHING YOUNG MEN TO BE BROTHERS AND YOUNG WOMEN TO BE SISTERs BY MINIMIZING CLASS DIFFERENCES AND FOCUSING EACH CHILD’S ATTENTION ON LEARNING.

  • Students are subject to dress code inspection at any time.
  • A student who fails to observe the dress code or who cannot immediately correct a cited infraction of this code will be sent home.
  • Questions regarding any attire or style not officially mentioned, and all other details in this dress code should be relayed to the Office of the director, who has the power of discretion in its interpretation.
  • Students found out of uniform may be subject to suspension pending a conference with parents/guardians.
  • All students must be well groomed. This means, brothers must maintain a regular hair cut, and sisters hair must be neat and presentable even though covered with the tam.

BROTHERS’ DRESS CODE

  1. Long navy blue slack/dress pants which are clean, neatly pressed, and properly fitted are required. The following is prohibited:
    1. blue jeans (or any color jean-type pants made of denim or similar materials)
    2. jogging/sweat/ knit pants
    3. shorts of any kind
  2. Belts must be properly worn and fastened every day.
  3. A clean pressed white dress shirt (oxford; no knit shirts)is to be worn under a navy blue V neck sweater vest with the MUI patch is required along with a navy blue bow tie. All shirts must be properly buttoned and must be worn tucked inside the pants. Long sleeved t-shirts are not permitted under short sleeved dress shirts. Black dress shoes must be properly worn at all times with dark colored socks. The following shoes are not permissible:
    1. Work boots (or boots of any kind)
    2. Athletic or gym shoes
  4. MUI spirit t-shirts may be worn on Friday only.

SISTERS’ DRESS CODE

  1. All girls are required to wear the custom MUI sisters uniform fitted properly. This means the dress must be a calf-length, worn with the navy blue dress slacks. Sisters may wear either white or navy blue trouser socks and flesh tone stockings or white tights are permitted. Gym socks are not permitted.
  2. White blouse short or long sleeved (polo style not permitted). Sisters may wear a turtle-neck top in place of the dress shirt. Long sleeved t-shirts are not permitted under short sleeved dress shirts. All must be worn with a navy blue bow tie; the tam hat is required head covering.
  3. Dress shoes must be worn on a daily basis. Shoes must be clean and properly worn. No sandals, open toe shoes, tennis/gym shoes, boots of any kind are to be worn by the sisters.
  4. All sisters’ hair must be neat and presentable even though covered with the tam.
  5. MUI spirit t-shirts may be worn on Friday only; with uniform pants or other navy dress pants.

TRIAL PERIOD AND TERMINATION OF SERVICE:

The first 14 calendar days from child’s start date are a probationary period for MUI, child, and parent. This agreement may be terminated at any time during this period. After the probationary period, this agreement will be binding. The parent/Guardian will be responsible for tuition for the entire school year. Failure to follow the agreement rules in this contract may be cause for immediate termination with no notice. MUI will give the parents a minimum of 30 days written notice of any increase in fees or significant changes to this agreement. Any and all additions/changes to this contract must be initialed by both the parent and MUI to be valid.
